It's Sunday Lockdown Movie night! This week we're going back to January 28, 1979 to see "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes"!

Supporting features from the era kick off at 7pm Melbourne time (0900 UTC) and the feature movie one hour later. There may be some followup material for the die-hards (it will not be Die Hard).

Reminder that it's Sunday Movie Night at 0900 UTC. We'll be revisiting January 28, 1979 and I may have gotten a little carried away with the supporting feature material this week.

Hey @Monal I've been trying to help a user who can't figure out how to leave a chat room in Monal. Searching for info on this only leads to documentation that's 10 years old and apparently now invalid.

Could you publish some updated guides with lots screenshots please? It seems that this function may not be easily discoverable.

Sometimes when I'm chatting with my kid I whimsically wonder what my own dad is doing right at that same moment, and what his address is, and whether he's still alive.

Me, every week: "How can I need to do my laundry again? I only just did it last week."

Can we just give America its own little internet to post on for the next 24 hours or so?

@mrc @Nikolai_Kingsley I keep ordering parts and I'm pretty sure we're approaching a Guitar of Theseus situation here, which I think sounds like a good name for a song.

It took me a couple of attempts to get through the first few episodes, but I have to admit I'm extremely emotionally invested in Ted Lasso at this point.

My thought a couple of weeks ago of "I should get new strings for my bass, they've been on there at least 35 years" has now moved on to "everything about this is fucked I should rebuild it".

I kind of want to repaint it but I don't want to lose that sticker.

I wonder how many educators are on here.

There were thriving communities of educators on Tumblr and Twitter, but Tumblr's went to heck after moderated hashtags went away and Twitter is ... Twitter.

The fediverse has Scholar.social, but that's more of an instance for college/university level academics. I'd like to connect with other K-12 educators.

last night I baked again. Had a visitor come for supper and that seemed a good excuse to make another tart! I bake with strawberries sometimes to add a bit of flavour, even though they do go mushy- same consistency as soft apples really, and the overall flavour combo is great. Pics are before, out of oven, and on the table. (dish and fancy spoons came from a local jumble sale 😎 ... nearly as free as the apples from the tree) #baking #smallstories

Had some of this with lunch and can confirm it's doing really well. 😀

I had planned to pull down and rebuild this garden bed this year, but the leftover scraggly bits of silverbeet have spring back to life, burdened with glorious purpose. There are also a couple of really healthy looking garlic shoots in there and I apparently missed some potatoes. I think I'll leave it alone, something's obviously going right.

A hell of a lot of apples fell off the tree into this thing, maybe that's the secret. :awesome:

Feeling a lot better today and got a negative test result for the plague, so I guess my body just needed a personal day.

A KIM-1 emulator for the Commodore 64

A thing of beauty is a joy forever. This project is pure retrocomputing excellence. It's an emulator for the KIM-1 (a 6502 development board that predates Commodore) which runs on a Commodore 64.

Have realised I can get lunch and a large coffee delivered to me from a local cafe so I've treated myself to exactly that.
