Baking Bread!

Raisin and walnut sourdough bread! I was pleased with this one! Someone gave me a new started and I'm off!

can anyone identify this plant? I picked it up from a plant giveaway and in the dark thought it might be some kind of tradescantia but that doesn't seem right at all. the longest leaves are ~3in long

If I were the NSW Police I would simply beat and restrain a professor of law specialising in legal reform at the university he works at

Alcohol

Oh god I've opened the home-made vodka I think this evening is a writeoff.

I keep thinking that I really could use a whiteboard here, and I know there are some spare ones in storage at work. Maybe I should drive in and get one.

I finally finished writing up the build of my new and improved wicking bed setup for my veggie gardening.

You can just read it here with no ads or other bullshit: bremensaki.com/2020/10/14/buil

If you know people who tend to read stuff on Medium, you can throw them this link:

Last year, I hastily assembled a basic wicking bed in my garden, mostly using scraps of stuff I already had lying about. This time I took what I’d learned and tried to do a good job.

Covid VIC

Seriously, you could draw a cause-and-effect diagram of people who get COVID, don't disclose from fear of recrimination, a media who is dead-set on exposing every single violation, and the inability to decrease case numbers at the tail-end.

I just discovered I'm apparently the owner of a "rare" metal album. It's rare because it's an indie band and they've for whatever reason left off the 3rd track of the album on their bandcamp page. Not sure why.

Anyway, it's Creative Commons so I uploaded it here in case somebody wants to check out one of my personal favourite CC metal EPs:

I've been working from home for months and it wasn't until today that I realised that I could just do the "walk to the station and get a coffee" part of my commute without actually needing to get on a train or go anywhere, and at the end of it I have a nice cup of coffee to drink.

I love the look of classic ads, especially electronic ones. Here's a few of the many classic computer ads I have saved. Enjoy!

I whimsically decided to take my sourdough dinner roll recipe and just whack it in a loaf tin instead of dividing it up and I think I'm on to something here.

Operation: Nuke the Kitchen is progressing. Today I found a forgotten stash of Zooper Doopers just in time for the weather warning up, and a new high score in the "oldest expired foodstuff", coming in at hair over 11 years past the date on the label.

I had no idea Tony Robinson came and did a walk around Melbourne one time and now I'm feeling homesick about a place I'm still in.

Gardening, pests

I've got an unidentified fruit tree (stone-fruit possibly?) infested with these sap sucking black bugs. Anyone know what they are and/or how to move them on?

Every so often I remember that Americans go around thinking Randy is a perfectly good name for someone. "Are you Randy?" they ask. "Yes, I'm Randy" someone says back.

Heh.

Open Letter to Apache OpenOffice: Today marks 20 years since the source code to OpenOffice was released. And today we say, LibreOffice is clearly the future of the suite (see the timeline). Let's all get behind it, for the benefit of all users: blog.documentfoundation.org/bl

I think the only time I've felt truly Australian was when I took half a souvlaki away from a kangaroo.
