Maybe ask yourself why your bathtub ISN'T full of before you go questioning my lifestyle choices.

I just changed my smoke alarm batteries - aren't we due for a new Prime Minister around now?

Untitled Human Game where the world around you is in chaos and falling apart and you try to walk through it without noticing too much. There's a button you can press to look up from your phone and go "heh" quietly to yourself.

Has anyone done the Obama 'hope' poster but with the goose and 'honk' yet and if not, why not

Hi Fediverse 👋

let me sum up the situation around #switchingsocial

Around September 20th, the original (anonymous) author of shut down its website and all related Social Media accounts, including mastodon 🤔

This info reached me (@tobias ) the next day via my German version @swisode .

As there hasn't been any sign of life since then, I restored the website and created this new account. Right now I'm out of spare time to work on it, but that'll change in a few weeks 🙂

Kangaroo update: still chilling in its hiding spot. No sign of wildlife people. It's getting towards dusk when roos tend to be more active so I expect it'll try to wander off soon. Nothing much I can do at this point except keep track of where little mate is.

Just remembered that last time I made loquat jam, I wanted to try adding some nasturtium blossoms which might give it an amazing colour, but none of my bloody nasturtiums have a single flower anywhere on them. Lazy fuckers.

If cartoons have taught me anything, it's that right now my cats believe they have encountered a giant mouse.

There is a kangaroo in my front yard. In the suburb I live in this is an unprecedented and mysterious thing. There are no local populations.

We're waiting on trained professionals to come help. Right now it seems pretty calm in a bit of long grass down the side of my house so I'm just trying not to spook it while also trying to keep track of where it is.

Tree out on the nature strip has gone nuts. Picking heaps of loquats to make some jam.

Sadly, the dancing did apparently stop at Trappers at some point in the last 33 years. The poor folk of Melbourne have nowhere to get down and rage now.

Advice, please, on selfhosting-friendly authn systems for web apps? Openid (the original one) made it quite easy for people to run their own auth provider - iirc every WordPress install could act as one, for example - but oauth2 and openid connect seem to require me as a webapp author to know explicitly about every auth provider my users might want to use. Which basically means most app authors just do one or more of google/twitter/fb and assume everyone has those

I did bugger all today and the time just flew past. I'd like to commission some research into making time pass at the same rate it does at work, while not being at work. Thank you.

This is coconut ice cream with fresh loquat. It is one of my favourite flavour combinations in the world, and it only potentially exists for a few weeks a year. If you have a loquat tree near you, get on this.

I'm sure you can buy coconut ice cream but I just make it from amazingly cheap cans of coconut cream from the supermarket. It's super easy and delicious. Also so you can share it with almost everyone.

Currently trying to get some work done in the front yard, but this boy keeps distracting me with his need for pats.
