i once dreamed i was attending a literary conference on a boat and Iain M Banks punched me in the head so hard i fell overboard.

Viewing a retro-site on a retro-computer (see Cameron KAiser's post for details: tenfourfox.blogspot.com/2019/0)

The contemporary one does not look so well...

Hey folks, it's my birthday this Wednesday (14th) and if you're in Melbourne, please come by The Kodiak Club on Brunswick Street that night and join me in enjoying the modern entertainment wonder that is open-mic comedy, and also probably drinking delicious cocktails before I pay someone to drive me home at a reasonable hour.

It'll be the party night of the millennium.

I am completely out of the loop in terms of #antivirus for #Windows. Is #AVG still good?

Hey! I’m new to Mastodon. It was recommended to me by some fellow artist friends. I live in Melbourne, Australia and I live for my art.

I concentrate exclusively on animals which means I’m usually doing some kind of wildlife art or pet portraits. Here’s a charcoal piece I did fairly recently called “Thy Fearful Symmetry”. I used a reference courtesy of Kaz Turner.

Just made another post to my blog. This time I talk about networks of trust, federation, and anti-harassment.

Blueberries, ricotta, frozen pastry sheets and a microwavable toastie press combine to make a shitty, cold afternoon quite bearable.

Slightly slower day for me today than yesterday. Wonder if you can guess why?

I'm not really used to houses with attached garages and it kinda blows my mind a little when you can open a normal-looking door and there's a room with a car in it.

You can get it needing
You can get it reading
You can get it pressing a bao
Matter of fact I've got it now

If a game isn't released for your platform, or you have to wait for it, maybe even because the developers can actually afford to live while creating it, the most level of emotion you should feel is "aw, darn" and then you find literally anything else in the world to fret, worry, foam, froth, spew about.

Anyone have any advice for my trip to Brazil?

Anything I should know culturally -so I don't offend and to be extra polite?

Anything to eat or look for that is special there?

I'm still learning Portuguese! :)

eek!

Turned out 9 was a right pain. The installer actually crashed at certain points and I really didn't want to keep fighting with it.

While wondering if it was just a dodgy drive causing me grief, I pulled out the old CD-ROM and replaced it with an IDE DVD drive I had on the shelf - and ended up slapping a 120GB hard disk in it as well.

Found 7.2 installed fine, it's just 8 that has issues. It's my preferred anyway. Always most comfortable with that one. :awesome:

I made pizza last night, with dough made the day before.

First use of our pizza stone. Finally the investment pays off. Delicious!

This Malwarebytes extension is fucking ludicrous, I think it's just flagging things at random.

@mike A fair while ago, I saw this expressed as;
"Optimism is; putting the lid back on before you've tried it."

I'd like to share a short lesson based on my experience working with computers for a couple of decades or so.

1) Don't ever put all the screws back in until you know it's working.

2) Putting all the screws in will stop something from working.

Shut up Leonard. I've seen your mastodon account. Who wants reviews of dollar store curry mix??
