The problem with this whole Epic/Apple/Google debacle is I'm having trouble telling which multi-billion-dollar corporation truly has the best interests of me, the consumer, at heart.
@mike Can I quote you on that?
@mike Bold of you assume any of them have any consumer's interests at heart.
@mike maybe in a surprise twist it'll end up at the supreme court and they'll declare cellphones stores - but not the internet - as a utility and subject to higher regulation.
Which basically means a LOT of pointless company splitting and mergers and confusion and generally a bad time for the end-user.
And the internet as a utility will just get further from reality and deeper into the control of google.
@mike @alcinnz Epic: Uses monopolistic practices to secure control over software through their marketplace, denying access to existing users who are on Linux or Mac just so they can maximize their profits.
3 minutes later...
Also Epic: “It's not fair Apple are using monopolistic practices to secure control over software through their marketplace, denying access to existing users just so they can maximize their profits! But we’re totally the only good guys fighting for freedom! P.S. fuck Linux”
only ones gettin' cured in all this is the lawyers.
