I just spent $8 on the complete set of classic Ultima games which I've been meaning to get around to completing since approximately 1986 when there were only four of them.
At my current rate of progress, I should be done by the year 2234 unless they release another one before then.
I tried. I really did. The earliest one I could get into was VI. I learned of ultima playing savage empire as a kid. That one and marble madness on my dad's Amiga 1000 are my fondest gaming memories. Ugh. Nostalgia.
@Funkpirata I learned about editing floppy disk sectors on the #C64 by placing random chests on the Ultima IV map. I kinda got distracted by that kind of thing and started doing things like changing the dialog NPCs said to you (to SUPER MATURE THINGS I assure you) and never completed it.
I have finished Ultima I though! Legitimately! It only happened a few months ago though. 😀
