I haven't been here for about 19 months, much has happened in that span for me. That said, it feels refreshing to be back!

*Sunny Forecast*

The sun is quite bright
As I rise from my night.
It most certainly seems
I've lingered in dreams.

The pump of my heart
Means, my day I can start.
Another fine morning
After leaving the snore thing.

Now, coffee in hand,
And isn't that grand?
I'll get back into the swing.
What joys will Saturday bring?

My weekly "Coffee Salute to the Daybreak" this morning. I am now on my 3rd cup and thinking about all my ancestors who carried on, beyond their daybreak, who made this moment and unique coffee salute today possible!

My Mint plant, looking happy outside in the Spring weather, after being held captive indoors under a plant light during the Winter weather months.

I need 8 hours of sleep to function properly, 9 or 10 hours to feel good & refreshed.

How about you?

Why do I feel that sitting in your car, listening to your bluetooth phone conversation loudly and with enough bass to share it with the surrounding neighborhood is an exclusively urban American phenomenon... 😮

Sitting outside with doggie, enjoying the warm sunlight and Spring weather!

Coffee at daybreak brewed with manually ground, dark roast coffee beans. This is a nice peaceful way to start a day off on the outdoor patio after a hectic week of people chaos and mayhem.

@alan It is definitely a unique taste. That fact that I liked it above all other soft drinks until my late teens says it held a great attraction at one point, then to have that turn off, never to return does make it a quandary in my life.

@alan I loved it as a child many decades ago, when a root beer ice cream float was a real and rare treat. I don't think I've had it since and can't stand to even sip a taste of it now. Interesting...

My dark roast, strong black coffee this morning paired with some dark chocolate, only the best of ways to start a Sunday for me.

I won't ever have a sundial embedded in the earth as long as I live with daylight saving time and just have to accept the wrong angle of shadows on the exact minute of the Summer Solstice on June 20 this year. 😂

Daylight Saving Time has now begun here for 2021. I now get more make my annual statement about how much I hate it but will spare all the details as to why. This year I did some research on DST and was shocked at how many countries in the world use DST.

Do you like Daylight Saving Time?

Have you tried browsing your instance's Local and Federated feeds?

Local shows the latest posts from your instance in chronological order.

Federated shows the latest posts from across the Fediverse on accounts that are followed on your instance.

Smaller specialist instances tend to have more interesting Local feeds, because they are quieter and easier to follow.

Larger instances' Local feeds tend to be a bit more of a firehose, with too many posts to keep track of.

A picture I took of some nice cloud formations here a little while back.

Had a tech nightmare this week when I couldn't login to my (cloud-based) password manager (Encryptr). It turned out that the service had been discontinued and they shut down the servers, meaning I couldn't access any of my passwords.

Thankfully there was quite a bit of uproar and the servers are back on this weekend for users to export their data.

I could have lost 200+ passwords for my entire (digital) life. I should have known better. We all make mistakes, please learn from mine!

@stanhamil I drove 20-24 ft straight trucks and cargo vans. The nice thing about the bigger trucks was when people were rude and sped up to get ahead of you when you were signaling to change into their lane in front of them (with plenty of room) and how quickly they would back off and disappear from view in your rear view mirror when you changed lanes anyway, squeezing them between the truck and a retaining wall. I never hit them but didn't know where they went either, except away.

A badly need cup of strong black coffee at daybreak this morning, given the semi rough week/month/YTD it has been. It helped!
